Where Did Nora Go
Where Did Nora Go is motivated by Astrid Nora - a very talented, Danisch woman who presents her new music project with the EP "Away, Away, Away". Her whole life she sang and played cello as well. During the last years he was busy on writing texts and composing songs.
After her debut in 2010 she tried to find a new sound by the help of other stylistic instruments and therefore she contacted the producer Henrik Marstal and Kasper Rasmussen. The decision was soon clear: the cello will be the main part of the new sound. The songs of the new album go forth with a huge interest on improvising.
Before Astrid started singing or writing texts for the new songs, she and her producer team worked on the music first. Where Did Nora Go is inspired by Henrik Ibsens "Ein Puppenheim". Astrid herself was named after a female leading actress and is into such kind of literary material. She sings about the role of women in society, ans asks questions about the daily stuff like education and relationship, carrer and family.
The whole album is full of intensive emotions. Nora herself describes the album as an artistic rebirth. Text and music make a strong and emotional overall picture and stretches from poetical fiction to the modern life.
Find here a couple of reviews of Where Did Nora Go:
BERLINGSKE 5/6 - “Already after the first two songs Astrid Nora has show remarkable strength. Through all thesongs and temperaments Astrid Nora’s feeling for melodies flows and her voice, which has its own sound, right there on the alluring line that separates empathetic beauty from overdone manners. Yes, Where Did Nora Go is well on her way. Where - nobody knows. Just like Nora in “A Doll’s House ‘. But with a talent of this magnitude, there is reason to be optimistic. Also on behalf of Danish rock."
LYDTAPET 6/6 - “The album is filled with an atmosphere that is both somber, determined and dreamy. There is compassion and passion from beginning to end. Astrid Nora’s vocal is one of the most unique to be found in Danish music at this time. It is strongand yet so vulnerable"
